Children's Garden Canopy Walk - Fort Worth Botanic Garden — Concept

Info

The Canopy Walk is a portion of the proposed four acre Children’s Garden within the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens.

The Canopy Walk takes visitors on a whimsical trip into the canopy of a dense stand of native pecan, oak and elm trees, teaching them about the native flora and fauna and giving them a “treehouse” view of the surrounding forest. Children are able to interact with a number of copper and wire mesh sculptures, inspired by particular aspects of the trees, to play, make music or roll in a giant mesh hammock, high above the forest floor.

The walk is supported by a series of steel tubes, detailed, sized and spaced to reflect the natural geometries of the surrounding forest, without damaging tree roots.
